CASE STUDY: MONARCH + MISFITS

Positioning innovative restaurateurs for sustainable growth.

CHALLENGE

Monarch and Misfits are an inventive restaurant group with a unique portfolio in Toronto and worldwide. Currently operating dozens of successful locations locally and globally, this ambitious hospitality brand required foundational HR in order to continue their growth into new markets. Harper Resources was hired to create an HR department from the ground up and coach an internal HR coordinator to effectively manage the department.

OUTCOME

  • Created foundational HR documents including an employee handbook, recruitment policy, process and supporting hiring manager resources, employment agreement templates and health and safety policies.
  • Developed job descriptions and targeted job postings for BOH and FOH positions.
  • Introduced a streamlined recruitment process and supported hiring managers with training, interview resources, offer of employment and on-boarding documents.
  • Established performance management tools including one-on-one and 90 day check in review templates.

Morgan made it possible for me to hire my first employee and I learned so much along the way. I have a newfound appreciation for HR and what goes into recruiting top talent.
